The Thistle Birmingham Edgbaston is a striking modern hotel designed as a circular tower, and is located one mile from the city center. The 151 guestrooms are decorated in pastel shades with dark wood furnishings. Room features include satellite television, premium TV channels and complimentary newspapers.
The hotel's brasserie, Inspirations, offers a varied menu and guests can choose to enjoy a drink in either the bar or the cocktail lounge. As well as its business center, the hotel also has seven air conditioned meeting rooms available for business guests, the largest of which seats 170 theater style. The hotel also offers reduced priced car parking to guests. There is easy access to the NEC indoor arena via public transport, and the motorway and rail networks open up the whole of the Midlands area. Birmingham International airport is located 12 miles from the hotel, a drive of approximately 30 minutes. Skyrail links the airport directly to Birmingham International Train Station and the National Exhibition Centre (NEC). It runs every two minutes from Terminal 1. Black cabs provide a 24 hour service from the official rank outside the airport passenger terminals. Local buses link the airport to the surrounding district.
From A38 follow signs for International Convention Centre (ICC), Broad Street. On Broad Street continue towards Five Ways Island. Take underpass which leads onto Hagley Road. The hotel is situated one mile on the right. The hotel is undergoing renovation work until mid December 2008.
